FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Accounts, books, payments, privacy and terms, all in one place. Can’t find it? Send us a message: a person reads every one.

Getting started

Which kind of account should I create?

Create a student account for the person who reads and learns. Create a parent account if you want to follow a child’s progress — it can’t read paid books or earn badges itself.

Children under 8 should create their account together with a parent or guardian.

What does the age band change?

It changes how much help the reader gives (text size, read-aloud), how visible XP and badges are, and how tests behave. You can change it any time in settings.

Can I turn off points and badges?

Yes. Choose Full, Calm (progress and badges, no streak pressure or confetti) or Off (plain progress only) during onboarding or later in settings.

Reading & audio

How do I switch the narration language?

Open the reader settings and pick Bangla or English narration. Books show which languages have narration on their page.

Is the narration a real person?

Narration is produced with high-quality text-to-speech (Gemini TTS or ElevenLabs) before publishing, and an editor listens to and approves every section. Nothing is generated live while you read.

Is my place saved?

Yes. Your position and finished sections are saved as you read, and the book page shows a “Continue reading” button.

Can I read with a weak connection?

Pages are small and drawn illustrations load instantly. Progress is saved on your device and sent in small batches when you’re back online.

Parents & linking

What can a linked parent see?

Time spent, books and chapters finished, topics to revisit, and assessment results. Parents also choose what the child sees about their own scores.

Payments & refunds

Do you charge a subscription?

No. Many books are free; paid books are bought once and stay in the student’s library for good.

How can I pay?

bKash, Nagad or a debit/credit card. You approve the payment on the provider’s own page or app; Interactive Books never sees your PIN or card number.

Payments are not switched on yet, so no money moves for now.

Can I try a paid book before buying?

Yes. Every paid book has a free taster part, so you can see whether it suits the reader.

Whose account does a book belong to?

The student’s. Buy while signed in as the student who reads it, and it stays in their library. Linked parents can see what they own and how they are getting on.

On how many devices can a student read?

Two. A third device is asked to contact us, and we can free a slot (for example, when a phone is replaced).

My payment says “waiting for confirmation”.

We unlock a book only after the payment provider confirms it. This usually takes seconds. If it fails, nothing is charged and you can try again from the book page.

What if a payment fails or is charged twice?

A failed payment is never charged. Each book has one open order at a time, so a second tap continues the same order instead of charging twice. If anything looks wrong, contact us and we will refund it.

Do prices change?

A book’s price may change for new buyers. If you already own it, nothing changes for you.

Can I get a refund?

If you were charged by mistake or a book doesn’t work for you, contact us with the order ID from your receipt. A refunded book is removed from the library.

Privacy

What do you collect?

For students: a display name, an age band, language and reading preferences, and learning activity (what was played, answers, time spent). For parents: name, email and the links to their children.

We never ask children for photos, phone numbers, school names, addresses or exact birthdays.

How do you use it?

Only to run the service: saving progress, showing reports to linked parents, and improving books. No advertising, no selling or sharing data with advertisers, and no public profiles.

How are children protected?

Children under 8 should register with a parent or guardian. Parents see their linked child’s learning and decide what the child sees about their own scores. There are no public rankings or chats.

Can I get or delete my data?

Yes. Contact us to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete the account at any time.

Terms of use

What may I do with a book I buy?

Read and play it on the student account that bought it, for personal learning. Please don’t copy or share the book’s content.

Who is responsible for an account?

Keep your sign-in private. Parents are responsible for accounts made for children under 8.

Do purchases renew?

No. Purchases are one-time. Mistaken or failed charges are refunded (see Payments above).

Is there anything I must not do?

Don’t try to get into other people’s accounts or disrupt the service. Accounts that do may be closed.

Accessibility

Can I make the text bigger or easier to read?

Yes. The reader lets you change text size, line spacing, page width, serif or sans fonts, and paper, sepia or night themes. The site also works with browser zoom up to 200%.

Can I turn off animations?

We follow your device’s “reduce motion” setting, and students can also switch motion off in their profile. Choosing the Off game mode removes celebrations entirely.

Does Interactive Books work with a keyboard or screen reader?

Every control can be reached with the keyboard and has a visible focus ring and a label. If something doesn’t work for you, please tell us — it’s a bug.
